Description

Al Mio Amico Nero d’Avola is a Sicilian DOC red wine produced by Tenute dello Jato in western Sicily, near Monreale in the valley dominated by Monte Jato.

Made from 100% Nero d’Avola grapes, one of the most important native Sicilian varieties, this wine expresses the strength, character and identity of the island.

The wine shows a deep ruby red color with garnet reflections and offers complex aromas of ripe cherries, forest berries and dried violet with spicy notes of licorice, rhubarb and delicate balsamic hints.

On the palate it is round, balanced and structured, with pleasant tannins and a long persistent finish.

After fermentation at controlled temperature, the wine matures first in stainless steel tanks and then in barrique for about 9 months, followed by bottle refinement before release.
