Description
Al Mio Amico Merlot – Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine produced by Tenute dello Jato in western Sicily, near Monreale, in the valley dominated by Monte Jato.
This Terre Siciliane IGP wine is made from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, combining two classic international varieties in a balanced and elegant Bordeaux-style blend.
The wine shows a deep ruby red color with purple reflections and offers complex aromas of blackcurrant, plum, cherry and blackberry with notes of violet, vanilla, black pepper, chocolate and tobacco.
On the palate it is full-bodied, smooth and well structured, with soft tannins and a long persistent finish with delicate balsamic notes.
The grapes undergo a long maceration with the skins before fermentation and maturation in stainless steel tanks followed by aging in barrique, giving the wine greater complexity and structure.
