Description

Al Mio Amico Grillo is a Sicilian DOC white wine produced by Tenute dello Jato in western Sicily, near Monreale, in the valley dominated by Monte Jato.

Made from 100% Grillo grapes, one of the most famous native Sicilian varieties, this wine expresses the authentic character of the island. The vineyards grow on calcareous clay soils at about 300–350 meters above sea level, benefiting from the Mediterranean climate of the region.

The wine shows a bright golden yellow color and reveals aromas of citrus fruits, yellow tropical fruits, pear and delicate floral notes with hints of almond and broom flowers.

On the palate it is fresh, lively and well balanced, with pleasant minerality and a long, persistent finish.

Part of the fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and is followed by a short aging period in barrique, giving the wine additional structure and complexity before bottle refinement.
